Dermal filler treatments are customized to each patient’s facial anatomy, medical history, and aesthetic goals. Results may be visible shortly after treatment, although temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising can occur. Individual results and recovery experiences vary.
WHICH AREAS MAY BENEFIT FROM DERMAL FILLERS?
Depending on the product used and the patient’s individual needs, dermal fillers may be recommended to address concerns such as:

- Softening certain lines and folds around the nose and mouth
- Improving the appearance of marionette lines
- Restoring or enhancing cheek and midface volume
- Improving the appearance of under-eye hollows in appropriate candidates

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?
Dermal fillers are injectable products used to restore or enhance volume in selected areas of the face or hands. Many commonly used fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body and helps retain moisture in the skin.
Different fillers vary in composition, firmness, placement depth, approved treatment areas, and expected duration. Some hyaluronic acid fillers may be dissolved with hyaluronidase when medically appropriate, although reversal is not guaranteed to be immediate or complete.
Products offered at Hebe Medical Spa may include members of the Restylane®, JUVÉDERM®, and BELOTERO BALANCE® families. Product availability may vary by location.
Restylane®: The Restylane® family includes multiple hyaluronic acid fillers developed for different treatment areas and aesthetic concerns. Depending on the specific product, treatment may include selected facial wrinkles and folds, lips, cheeks, chin, or other approved areas.
JUVÉDERM®: The JUVÉDERM® Collection of Fillers includes products designed for specific areas and concerns. For example, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC may be used for approved cheek, chin, or temple concerns, while JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC may be used for approved lip and perioral concerns.
BELOTERO BALANCE®: BELOTERO BALANCE® is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler used for the correction of certain moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Your provider can determine whether it is appropriate for your concerns.
HOW LONG DO DERMAL FILLERS LAST?
The duration of dermal filler results varies according to the product, treatment area, amount injected, individual metabolism, and other patient-specific factors. Some fillers may last several months, while others may last a year or longer. Your provider will discuss the expected duration of the recommended product during your consultation.
HOW ARE DERMAL FILLERS DIFFERENT FROM BOTOX® COSMETIC?
Dermal fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic work in different ways. Dermal fillers add or restore volume in selected treatment areas. BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes certain moderate-to-severe facial lines in adults.
Depending on your concerns and treatment goals, your provider may recommend dermal fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic, or a combination treatment plan. These are prescription or medical treatments and should be performed only after an appropriate consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.
Individual results vary. Dermal filler injections may cause temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising, or other side effects. Rare but serious complications can occur, including unintended injection into a blood vessel. Review the applicable product information and discuss the potential benefits and risks with your provider before treatment.
