What Is Dysport®?

What to Expect
Before Your Appointment Avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications for a few days prior to your visit. No significant preparation beyond this is needed.
During Treatment Your provider will ask you to make various facial expressions to map the ideal injection points. Dysport® is delivered with a fine needle — discomfort is minimal, typically described as a brief pinch. A cool compress is applied after the injections to ease any minor swelling or redness. Treatment takes approximately 10–15 minutes. First-time visitors to our Fishkill clinic may be able to receive treatment the same day as their initial consultation.
After Treatment You can return to your normal activities immediately following your appointment. For the first 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, rubbing the treated areas, or lying flat.
Results
Initial effects become visible within a few days. Full results develop within 1–2 weeks and typically last 3–4 months. Over time, some patients find they can extend the interval between treatments as treated muscles gradually adapt. Your provider will help you build a maintenance plan that works for your schedule.
